LENTEN PROGRAM CONTINUES: Sun. 3/26, Sun. 4/2 & Sun. 4/9 - 5:00PM Covered Dish Supper, 6:00PM Praise & Program (with children & youth program).
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN: We want to thank those in our Church family and UMW membership for the outpouring contributions to our mission/membership table for the Church World Service "Tool & Blanket Program". A total of $200.00 has been given. A gift of $5.00 will provide a warm blanket to those who have been displaced from their homes due to natural disasters or conflicts. Make checks out to "United Methodist Women".
HEALTH KITS & SCHOOL KITS will be assembled again this year by UMW as a Lenten project. Everyone is invited to participate by donating completed kits or a cash donation (all checks made payable to "United Methodist Women"). A collection box will be in the South Transcept through Easter Sunday.
FOOD DRIVE: Farmingdale UMC will be having a food drive during the month of March to help restock St. Killian's Community Food Pantry. Items will be collected in the So. Transcept each week.
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, April 29, 2006, 12:00-2:00pm "Second Annual Lovely Ladies Luncheon". Invite a friend, neighbor, relative, or co-worker who has brought joy into your life to share a meal, fun, and fellowship with a room full of "loved ladies." Details to follow.
CALLING ALL CROPWALKERS & SUPPORTERS: Our annual Cropwalk, the community-wide hunger response of Church World Service will take place Sunday, April 30th at Marjorie Post Park. Pick up your Cropwalk Sponsor Sheets from Peggy Tomko during Coffee Hour in Fellowship Hall.
THE SUNDAY SCHOOL LENTEN PROJECT is off to a great start. If you would like to purchase an animal, or a share of an animal from Heifer International, visit the Sunday School table in Fellowship Hall after church or see Jennifer Lee.

HEIFER CHALLENGE: The High School Class has accepted the "Heifer Challenge" and will be purchasing chicks. We will collect recyclable bottles and cans to meet our goal. Bottles and cans can be brought to church now through April 23rd. Together we can do it.

NEW-TO-YOU-THRIFT SHOP needs volunteers for Fridays 1:00-3:00pm, Saturdays 10:00am-1:00pm and 1:00-3:30pm, especially Sat. 4/9. Please contact Church Office. All you need to do is commit to one Friday or Saturday per month. We really need your help to keep the shop running 4 days a week.
CONGRATULATIONS to Jeff James who was elected President of the LIE District United Methodist Men and to Rob Schozer who was elected as the LIE District UMM Secretary.
CELEBRATION OF APPOINTMENT: for Pastor Yim originally scheduled for April 30th has been postponed to a future date.
THE HUGH "SKIP" NEWMAN SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE is currently accepting applications for the 2006 Skip Newman Scholarship. The scholarship(s) will be awarded on Christian Education Sunday to students who are entering or continuing in a school of higher education. Applications are available in the Church Office and must be submitted by May 14th. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the scholarship fund, may do so by submitting a check to the church and designating it for the Newman Scholarship Fund.
ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING: People around the world depend on UMCOR, and UMCOR depends on your offering. Your donation provides relief in the form of food and sustenance, health care and natural disaster recovery throughout the world. Please give generously, using the enclosed envelopes.
KATRINA INITIATIVE: All churches in the New York Annual Conference will observe Palm Sunday, April 9th as "Katrina Initiative Sunday." A special offering will be taken to help United Methodist churches, pastors and staff recover from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina. Checks can be made out to the NYAC. Please note on your contribution, Katrina Church Recovery Appeal #818-001.
