The Messenger

May 13, 2007

Dear Friends,

mothers, remembering their sacrificial love, guidance and prayers. Please join us as we worship the Lord and give thanks for our mothers!
We also want to express our support for those in Greensburg, Kansas whose town has been utterly destroyed by an F-5 Tornado, through our prayers and financial support. Please prayerfully consider making a special donation, "UMCOR Domestic Disaster Advance #901670" written in the memo line or made payable to UMCOR.

Because Christ Lives,
Pastor Yim

REFLECTION ON STEWARDSHIP
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people eager for money have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
1 Timothy 6:6-10

J.C. CAFÉ: join us on Sat. June 9th for a night of spirit-filled musical witness at the Farmingdale UMC. Back by popular demand - Joe Guadagno & Paul Paoli. Doors open at 7:00pm; program starts at 7:30. Suggested donation is $5.00. Coffee and desserts are on the house

SPRING SPRUCE-UP: Join us on Sat. June 16th beginning at 9:00am. We hope you will give us at least an hour of your time to help make our building shine - making windows sparkle, degreasing the kitchen, covering scratches on woodwork and doors, dusting surfaces, or completing a chore of your choice! All efforts are greatly appreciated. We'll supply cleaning materials, but feel free to bring along your favorite supplies and gadgets that help you do your finest work. Singing and "whistling while your work" are encouraged! See you there.

IN SYMPATHY: We extend sympathy to Lois Herrschaft and her family on the passing of her brother, Charles Conver at the age of 86. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to: Mr. & Mrs. Bob Herrschaft 5 Linwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
