THE UMW IN SUPPORT OF CHILDREN "But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.'" Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to critically ill, traumatized and abused infants and children through the gift of new, homemade, washable blankets and afghans. Pastor Yim will offer a prayer of blessing for this project this Sun. 5/20. Please contact Lisa Joniaux for details or to make a donation.
CONFIRMATION NEWS:
- Wrap-up Meeting & Barbeque: Sunday, May 20th - after church at 1:30pm. Confirmands, families and mentors are invited to a barbeque at the parsonage. This will be a wrap-up meeting with Pastor Yim and a chance for the families to get together as a group with the mentors.
- Rehearsal: Friday, June 1st, 6:30pm. Confirmands, parents and mentors need to be present. We will not serve dinner at the rehearsal this year.
- Confirmation Day: Sunday, June 3rd. Mentors and families should plan to arrive at church by 8:15am in order to get robes on and corsages. Bill Jones will be available that morning for pictures.
REMEMBER IN PRAYER the confirmation students that they may know Christ personally and follow Him: Melissa Andrews, Brian Carle, Andrew Makosky, Matthew Dinda, Charley Nataro & Charissa Middendorff.
GRADUATES: If you know of anyone in our church who is graduating from high school or college this year, please share this information with the Church Office so that we can acknowledge their achievement and pray for God's continued blessings upon them.
BABYSITTER'S TRAINING CLASS: Sat. June 2nd 10:00-4:00pm at Farmingdale UMC. Earn an American Red Cross Training Certificate. Class is designed for ages 11-15 years old. Fee is $10 to cover the cost of handbook. To register, call the Church Office (before 5/25, please).

SPRING SPRUCE-UP: Full Congregation Activity -
Join us on Sat. June 16th beginning at 9:00am. We hope you will give us at least an hour of your time to help make our building shine - making windows sparkle, degreasing the kitchen, covering scratches on woodwork and doors, dusting surfaces, or completing a chore of your choice! All efforts are greatly appreciated. We'll supply cleaning materials, but feel free to bring along your favorite supplies and gadgets that help you do your finest work. Singing and "whistling while your work" are encouraged! See you there. Continuous coffee available for an energy lift!
HELP WANTED: The Membership & Evangelism Committee is looking for a few people who would like to deliver a meal or dessert occasionally for our cooking and baking ministry. If you would like to be part of our delivery ministry team, please contact Pastor Yim or Pat DiMassi. Thank you.
MANY THANKS to everyone who helped with our United Methodist Men's Pancake Breakfast, Plant and Bake Sale this past Saturday. It was a great success and the proceeds will go to many good outreach and mission causes. Special thanks to our friends at Waldbaum's for their generous donation of a gift certificate.
NEW YORK ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Bishop Jeremiah Park will preside at the 208th Session of the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church on June 6 - 9 at Hofstra University. The theme is "For Such a Time as This: Together We Make a Difference". All are welcome!
ALTAR FLOWER CALENDAR: If you wish to have an arrangement placed on the altar in memory of a loved one, or in honor of someone or a special time in your life, please call the Church Office. The cost is $20.
THE LIVING TREE: is a wonderful way to permanently record special moments in your life: Anniversaries, Baptism, Weddings, Confirmation, the passing of a loved one or any other personal or family event. A leaf on the tree is $250 and a rock is $3,000. Brochures are available in the South Transept by the tree.
