UMM PANCAKE BREAKFAST & SPRING PLANT SALE: this Sat. 5/17, 8:30-11:00am. Tickets for the breakfast are $5 for adults, $3 for children.

PEACE WITH JUSTICE SUNDAY: this Sun. May 18th. Through your generosity, global outreach through the General Board of Church and Society and annual conference-related peace with justice ministries are strengthened. Offering envelopes are available in the So. Transept.

WHAT'S NEW IN SUNDAY SCHOOL
Children's Mission Project: Heifer International
•CALLING ALL BAKERS & VOLUNTEERS! The Sunday School will be having a bake sale this Sat. 5/17, 9:30-11:00. We need bakers & volunteers to stay at the table. Please call the Church Office if you can help.
•HEY KIDS! Don't forget to get your sponsors for the "Bible Read-A-Thon". All money is due back on May 25th.
•Gift Baskets: We have two children's gift baskets filled with Bible related books, videos, games, etc. Place your donation amount with your name and place it in the bag. The basket will go to the person with the highest donation.
•New York Annual Conference: Children in Mission Sat. 6/14 - If you and your children are interested in attending and presenting our gift for UM Missions through Heifer International, please speak with Jenn Lee

SKIP NEWMAN SCHOLARSHIP: The Hugh "Skip Newman" Scholarship committee is accepting applications (available in the Church Office) for the 2008 Skip Newman Scholarship. Deadline for submission is 5/18.

GRADUATES: If you know of anyone in our church who is graduating from high school or college this year, please share this information with the Church Office so that we can acknowledge & celebrate their achievement and pray for God's continued blessings upon them.

CONFIRMATION CORNER
REMEMBER IN PRAYER the confirmation students that they may know Christ personally and follow Him: Lindsay Cavallo, Jamie Farrell, Jimmy Sunde & Kristian Wurth.
Wrap-up Meeting & Barbeque: Sunday, May 18th - after church at 1:30pm. Confirmands, families and mentors are invited to a barbeque at the parsonage. This will be a wrap-up meeting with Pastor Yim and a chance for the families to get together as a group with the mentors.
Rehearsal: Friday, May 30th 6:30pm. Confirmands, parents and mentors need to be present. We will have dessert after the rehearsal.
Confirmation Day: Sunday, June 1st Mentors and families should plan to arrive at church by 8:15am in order to get robes on and corsages. Bill Jones will be available that morning for pictures.

UMW GOLD CIRCLE: we will meet Tues. May 20th, 12:00pm for a luncheon at Singleton's.

SPRING CLEAN-UP Full Congregation Activity - Join us on Sat. May 31st beginning at 9:00am. We'll supply cleaning materials, but feel free to bring along your favorite supplies and gadgets that help you do your finest work. Hope to see you there!

THRIFT SHOP: is in need of volunteers for one Saturday a month, as well as substitutes. Please call the Church Office.

HELPING CYCLONE VICTIMS: More than 30,000 people have died & over 1 million are homeless in Myanmar (Burma) after a cyclone hit the region. If you want to help through UMCOR, write a check to Farmingdale UMC and put "Adv. Spec. 3019674" on the memo line.

ANNUAL UMW PICNIC: Tuesday, 6/10 at 6pm at the home of Sue Jones, 98 Birch Avenue East in Farmingdale. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased during coffee hour. All women are invited to attend.

MISSION MINUTE: This year's Annual Conference's Mission Focus of Children is to purchase 10 Arks through Heifer International. An Ark, which costs $5,000, consists of 15 pairs of animals (like cows, sheep, camels, oxen, water buffalo, etc.) These 'arks' will be distributed in United Methodist Mission areas where the animals will be utilized for milk or wool and their offspring will be given to other families in need. Your generous financial support & participation will help the children make a difference for Christ this year! Offering envelopes are in the So. Transept
